Sharing your Personal data with third parties.

Your personal data is shared with the following organisation involved in the implementation of open EO platform:

They have a legitimate requirement in the use of your personal data to ensure the correct functionality and accounting of the open EO platform.

• to provide you access to openEO platform, and enable the use of the openEO Platform;  
• to send you emails in connection with openEO Platform
• to send you newsletters and new features related to openEO Platform
• to conduct surveys related to the openEO Platform
• to communicate your personal data to third-parties collaborators, contractors and/or partners involved in the organisation of openEO Platform

We adhere to the principle of data minimization. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as provided for by various storage periods provided for by law. After the respective purpose has ceased or these periods have expired, the corresponding data will be routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with statutory provisions. 

How long do we store your data 

• EODC stores log files generated when you access one of EODC’s services, generally for a period of a year. Beyond this time period log files will only be stored for the purpose of investigating irregularities in our system.
• Cookies are usually only valid for a short term (a day, a week, or a month).
• Data which you voluntarily provide to us is generally retained for as long as this is necessary for the fulfillment of the purpose for which they were provided. Thus, in any case we process your personal data for the duration of our contractual or service relationship with you. Beyond this time period we keep your personal data to comply with statutory retention obligations (e.g., to fulfill the seven year retention obligation under applicable tax and company law).
• EODC takes appropriate and reasonable measures to protect all Personal Data against accidental or unlawful loss, access, or disclosure.

Like many other services, we use so-called “cookies”. A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer. The content of this file is transferred to our web server each time you visit our website. Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transfer viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies helps us, among other things, to make navigation easier for you and to display our web pages correctly. Under no circumstances will the data collected by us be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent. 

You can deactivate the use of cookies in your Internet browser settings. However, as a consequence the display of certain content and the usage of certain services offered through our website may then be impaired.

When you access a page of our website, our web servers record the address (URL) of the requested page, date, time, duration, size of the request, any error messages and, if applicable, the operating system and browser software of your computer as well as the website from which you visit us in a log file. We also store the IP address of your computer in our log files. The IP address is a number that your Internet provider assigns to your computer temporarily or permanently.
